This policy outlines Fiest's approach to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in our restaurant dashboard. We provide AI-powered tools to help you understand your business performance, generate content, and make informed decisions. We are committed to responsible, transparent, and ethical use of this technology.

2. AI Features in the Fiest Dashboard

Fiest offers the following AI-powered features:

Analytics & Insights

  • Ask Fiest - A conversational AI assistant that answers questions about your restaurant's performance. Ask about sales trends, top-selling items, revenue comparisons, and more in natural language.
  • Fiest Insights - Automated business analytics that provide daily summaries including revenue trends, peak hours, top sellers, payment breakdowns, and actionable recommendations.

Content Generation

  • AI-generated menu descriptions - Automatically create compelling descriptions for your menu items based on their name, category, and ingredients.
  • AI-generated images - Create professional food photography and restaurant banner images for your menu and profile.

3. AI Providers and Transparency

We believe in transparency about the AI technologies we use. Our AI features use different providers depending on the task.

Text Generation & Analytics

For chat, insights, and text generation, we use Vercel AI Gateway to route requests to:

  • OpenAI
  • xAI
  • Zhipu AI
  • DeepSeek
  • Moonshot AI

Image Generation

For AI-generated images (menu photos and banners), we use Replicate with models from:

  • Google

Third-Party Provider Terms: When your data is processed by these AI providers, it is subject to each provider's respective terms and privacy policies. Data handling practices vary by provider.

Fiest Data Storage: To provide features like chat history and to improve our AI services, we store your AI conversations and interactions in our secure database. This data is used for quality evaluation, service improvement, and to enable you to continue previous conversations.

We regularly evaluate and may update AI providers to ensure the best quality for our users. All data transfers are encrypted and handled in compliance with GDPR and Finnish data protection regulations.

4. AI Limitations and Accuracy

While AI technology is powerful, it has limitations. Please be aware of the following:

  • AI-generated insights and analytics are based on available data and may not capture all factors affecting your business.
  • Revenue forecasts and predictions are estimates based on historical patterns, not guarantees of future performance.
  • AI recommendations should be validated with your own business judgment and local market knowledge.
  • Text content may occasionally contain inaccuracies. Always review before publishing.
  • Generated images are artistic interpretations and may not exactly match your actual dishes.
  • We do not guarantee the absence of copyright concerns in AI-generated images, though we use models designed to minimize such risks.

5. Data Usage and Privacy

By using our AI features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

For Analytics Features (Ask Fiest, Fiest Insights)

  • We analyze your restaurant's sales data, orders, revenue, and menu performance to generate insights and answer your questions.
  • This data is processed through our AI providers' APIs to generate responses. Each provider's data handling is governed by their respective terms of service.
  • Data is transmitted securely using encryption and is not shared with third parties for their own purposes.

For Content Generation

  • Menu item names, categories, and descriptions are sent to generate text content.
  • Restaurant information may be used in image generation prompts.

General

  • We use anonymized usage patterns to improve AI feature quality and user experience.
  • All data transfers are encrypted and comply with GDPR and Finnish data protection regulations.
  • We will not share your specific restaurant data with third parties for their own purposes.

6. Restaurant Responsibilities

As a restaurant using our AI features, you are expected to:

  • Review and verify AI-generated insights before making significant business decisions.
  • Use AI analytics as one input among many, alongside your own expertise and market knowledge.
  • Review all AI-generated content before publishing it on your Fiest profile or any other platform.
  • Ensure that AI-generated content accurately represents your offerings and aligns with your brand.
  • Not use AI-generated content for fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive purposes.
  • Report any issues, inaccuracies, or concerns with AI features to Fiest support.

7. AI-Generated Content Marking

In accordance with EU AI Act requirements and our commitment to transparency, AI-generated images created through Fiest may be marked or include metadata indicating they were created using AI. This helps maintain trust with your customers and complies with emerging regulations.

8. Ethical AI Commitment

We are committed to the responsible and ethical use of AI:

  • We regularly evaluate our AI providers and models to ensure they meet our quality and safety standards.
  • We work to minimize potential biases in AI-generated content and analytics.
  • We provide human oversight tools, allowing you to edit, regenerate, or reject any AI-generated content.
  • We stay informed about AI regulations, including the EU AI Act, and update our practices accordingly.

9. Terms Acceptance

AI features in Fiest require explicit acceptance of these terms before use:

  • You will be prompted to accept AI terms when first accessing Ask Fiest, Fiest Insights, or AI content generation features.
  • Terms acceptance is recorded per restaurant account.
  • You may continue using other Fiest features without accepting AI terms if you prefer not to use AI capabilities.
  • If terms are updated significantly, you may be asked to review and accept the new version.

10. Your Rights

Under GDPR and Finnish data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Request information about how your data is used in AI processing.
  • Opt out of AI features while continuing to use other Fiest services.
  • Request deletion of AI-generated content associated with your account.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman if you believe your rights have been violated.
